Is the Alemoot quest broken?
No matter how many times I try, I can't consistently get through the slalom gates. I've even turned off post-processing effects to make it easier.
It's bizarre and infuriating. I'm sick of doing the "carrying kegs" bit because I'm 99% sure the slalom will tell me I've made a mistake, even though I'm running round the posts correctly as far as I can tell. I've got through it once, doing exactly the same thing as I always do - which normally fails. Can anyone suggest how to do it? |

I also want to say for the record, that where the pigs spawn plays a huge role in whether or not the mission is actually possible to finish within the time.

Yes, it is broken - but not in the way that you think.
Start the quest, don't go anywhere near the ale barrels - just go and herd the piggies. It's awkward to do, as they don't react to /shoo like the Flamingoes in that Nightfall quest - but it should only take a few minutes. (It's somewhat akin to the Prizewinning Pig herding pseudo-quest in pre-searing, if you remember that one) Anyhoo, soon as the last piggie goe in, bam! - quest done I found that out quite by accident when I thought I could save a bit of time by herding them first.

Still, the quest can be done, as annoying as it is. Having a (as constant as possible) speed boost helps tremendously, of cours. Switching off post-processing has already been mentioned. For the slalom, make sure to clear the posts with some distance. If you get too close to them you can fail, even though you pass them on the right side. And yeah, the piggy spawn depends largely on luck. :/ |

Regarding the slalom, make sure you do the things right:
-after carrying the kegs, remember to return to take the obligatory drink from the kegs at the start. In the beginning, I didn't remember to return for the drink, and kept failing. -remember to start at the right end of the slalom course and remember you have to slalom around the outer border of the track. -if you are doing things right, you will hear a sound letting you know you've passed a flag. The hard part are the pigs. I try to herd at least two to the door before starting, as otherwise, the pigs will be scattered all over. And yes, you can still cheat with the pigs. They don't run away from you, but you can keep body blocking them, so they eventually have to go to the door. Time consuming, but possible. |

For the slalom, aim for the center of the green star on your radar. Going around the posts gains nothing until you hit the middle of the star.

Just herded the pigs a few days ago on my Ranger. Still works. No need to do all the other crap.

I've never managed that quest either. For some reason I always get horrible lag, and rubberbanding in that quest is a killer. Will now try the pre-emptive-herding-of-pigs-thing.

Pre-emptive herding no longer works. It was fixed months ago in an update.
